Agriculture Sector Network (ASNET)

Agatha is a self-driven leader and manager with extensive experience in with both the public and private agriculture sectors, particularly in thematic areas of agriculture transformation initiatives such as policy alignment, advocacy, policy domestication as well as agriculture value chains development, Project management, Projects Monitoring and Evaluation and a thorough understanding of devolved agriculture and intergovernmental relations, having worked initially in agriculture extension, as a Projects Coordinator in National Agriculture Extension Programs, NALEP and KAPAP, whose objectives were to raise agriculture productivity and incomes for smallholder farmers, County Executive Member for Agriculture, member of the Joint Agriculture Sector Steering Committee (JASSCOM) and the Joint Agriculture Secretariat(JAS) for five years.

Agatha is today the CEO of the Agriculture Sector Network (ASNET), the agriculture sector board of the Kenya Private Sector Alliance. ASNET’s role is to coordinate the private sector actors in Kenya, support regulation and policy advocacy for an enabling business environment and the cost of doing business, capacity building of value chain based agricultural associations in Kenya as well as supporting trade facilitation at local, regional and international levels. Agatha is also a board member of Tegemeo Institute of Egerton University and a committee member of the National Technical Advisory Committee of the National Agriculture Value Chains Development Project, WB funded and domiciled in 34 Counties in Kenya and a member of the Steering Committee for the Comesa Regional Food Balance Sheet Initiative and a member of the National Horticulture Task Force.
