Two key motivations inspired me to establish the International Conference on Contract Farming (ICCF).

First, growing up on a farm exposed me to the unpredictability of agriculture. After investing so much effort in farming, I watched my family sell surplus produce at throw-away prices simply to avoid the costs of taking it back home. That reality highlighted just how fragile farmers’ livelihoods are without structured market linkages. Years later, as a farmer myself, I was shocked to find little had changed—limited access to fair markets and unstable pricing still persist. This reinforced the urgent need for sustainable solutions.

Second, with over 14 years of professional experience in events management, I have seen how well-curated platforms can spark dialogue, forge partnerships, and facilitate agreements that create lasting change. These experiences revealed the power of intentional convening—how bringing the right people together under the right structures can transform challenges into opportunities.

It is at this intersection of agriculture and convening expertise that ICCF was born. More than just a conference, ICCF is a transformative platform connecting farmers, agribusinesses, off-takers, agritech innovators, buyers, sellers, development partners, government agencies, policymakers, financiers, and the entire agricultural value chain. Our mission is to help shift agriculture from being merely a way of life into a sustainable, profitable, and resilient enterprise.
